Delcam’s Argentinean reseller MultiCAM will demonstrate the company’s complete Power Solution range of CADCAM software at the FIMAQH 2004 exhibition to be held in Buenos Aires from 6th to 11th July. The Power Solution supports the complete product development process from initial concept design through to the manufacture and inspection of components.

For designers, Delcam’s Total Modelling software offers a powerful and flexible solution to design challenges. CAD systems are most effective when there is a smooth workflow from new concept to finished part but this is not always the reality. For example, many projects start by reverse engineering elements from existing designs rather than with new concept. In addition, even hybrid modellers have problems in modelling extremely complex decoration.

Total Modelling provides a totally-integrated approach to design, allowing designers to mix and match between different methods to define a component and so giving the ability to create innovative products more quickly and easily. Whether the starting point is a new idea, a 2D sketch, or an existing part, the complete design can be finished without restrictions or compromises.

Once the design has been finalised, Delcam’s Power Solution offers automated methods for tooling design and production. As well as speeding the transition from CAD model to finished part, automation eliminates repetitive work and reduces mistakes.
With Delcam’s PowerMILL CAM system, users can experience faster production, lower costs and higher confidence in machining with advanced techniques such as high-speed machining and five-axis machining. To give users new to these techniques a high level of confidence, simulation options in PowerMILL allow programs to be checked on the computer before being sent to the machine.

Latest developments in the new PowerMILL 5.5 release include a simplified user interface, new stock model options, raceline machining enhancements, automatic avoidance of tool overload, smoother finishing and collision checking improvements.

At all stages, Delcam’s PowerINSPECT inspection software can be used to ensure that the design intent has been captured accurately and consistently in prototypes, tooling and production samples. The software offers comprehensive inspection reports in an easy-to-understand format and so allows the results to be understood by everyone involved in the project.
